Last Tuesday I finished this semester's course on Rage & Time.
The above photo was taken during the fifteen minute break (it's a very long class); I was the only one in the room.
Before I would get to class, students there much earlier would rearrange the tables and chairs into new shapes. Theoretically, on this day the instructor was to sit in the chair atop the table atop the tables in the front. This play continued throughout the discussion, and it's only one part of what I'll miss. The last day was not bittersweet; it was simply bitter. Such an inspirational class, I'm ready for another, please.
Academically, for the holidays I turn to my online shopping cart, filled with books.
Once a month, once every six months, once a year - whatever I can afford - I indulge myself. Like recently.
And then, they torture you with more suggestions. See?
I know there's a formula for knowing my triggers so well, but is it necessary for them to be so obvious?
I laugh at myself for reading these Customers Like You Also Bought compilations. Rather, I laugh while opening a lot of new tabs.
Then I spend hours reading reviews and criticisms for books that I have to then put in my shopping cart.
It's an endless process akin to the constant expansion of the universe.
Is someone making fun of the universe too? Is it laughing at itself? Is the universe reading booklists alone on a Saturday night?
