Dior Backstage

Who loves quick and easy yet sophisticated and elegant makeup looks? or the question should rather be, who doesn't love such make up looks? ;)
Dior Backstage line was developed in that sense. The line was developed by Peter Philips himelself, the creative and image director of this beautiful house. I have to admit that I have a soft spot for Peter Philips, I really like what he has brought to Dior since he came in 2014.
If I'm not wrong, the Backstage line was launched in 2016. Since then, new products have been added and very recently a primer as well as a new eyeshadow palette and highlighter palette have been added.

I also had the chance to attend in May a master class held by our Dior National Makeup Artist, Michelle Fischer and her amazing team!

What I first learnt is that skincare preparation is of utmost importance! I was actually super happy to hear that because, you know, I'm all about skincare. By the way, if you want to know more about Dior Skincare, you can read some of my articles here, here and here.

Concerning the complexion it should be natural and looks nude. Highlighting and subtle contouring will enhance and give a healthier and more cheerful look. For the lips, gradient lips are still in trend and are great to make your lips plumper. I also really enjoyd the use of the lip maximizers on top of a nude lipstick. I think it makes perfect natural, fuller and juicy lips!
Finally for the eyes, everything is possible as long as you feel comfortable wearing different colors and styles! There are a couple of Dior brushes that I could try and really enjoyed, particularly the n°21 which is a perfect brush to pack color and blend it at the same time. I need to get it by the way!

Now let's get to the pictures and swatches!

Backstage Face & Body Foundation
The Dior Backstage Face & Body Foundation is the Dior makeup artists' secret weapon to create an instantly flawless complexion with ultra-buildable coverage, from a natural nude glow to high-coverage perfection. As the name suggests, you can use it on your face but also on your body. The body option is great for summer if you need to touch up your legs for example :D

What I really like about it? It looks super natural, doesn't look cakey or heavy on the face. It gives a subtle glow that again, stays really natural. It's waterproof and resists conditions, such as workout sessions, high temperatures and humid environments. And it's also supposed to look good on camera.

Backstage Eye Palette
Already available in a serie of warm or cool tones, there is a new addition to the eye palette, the amber palette! This is a warm coppery palette that looks actually stunning for summer.
All shadows are nicely pigmented, almost creamy (I didn't experience any fall out), and blend very easily.

Backstage Glow Face Palette
The first Backstage Glow Face Palette was such a success (it's the most sold item in the backstage line, I believe) that a new Glow Face has been launched this spring, namely the Glitz palette.

This palette contains a shimmery peach, a bronze with shimmery accents, a glittery white and a glittery golden pink. Two of the shades are therefore shimmer and two glitters.
This is such a perfect palette to add a beautiful glow! I also love that they have 2 glittery and 2 shimmery shades :D

Backstage Face and Body Primer
The Face & Body Primer is the Dior makeup artists' secret weapon for creating an instantly flawless complexion: imperfections are blurred, the complexion looks brighter, plumper and more even. Foundation hold is improved.
The 3 key words for this primer are: mattifying powders, hydration and glow.
I find it indeed hydrating and that's something I always enjoy in primers. It also does blur some minor imperfections but not as much as a heavier silicone-based primers alla the porefessional of Benefit. I also noticed that I need to use less foundation when I use this primer (tested with a couple of different foundations). Overall that's the type of primers I love, it's lightweight, hydrating and doesn’t clog pores plus it leaves the skin soft and makes foundation application a bit easier.

Lip Maximizer
I've just rediscovered the Lip Maximizers! I used to love the first pink shade they released, but haven't used it for a few years. Now the lip maximizer line contains several colors (pink, beige, berry, etc) and I must say that I fell in love all over again with the lip maximizer!

The Lip Maximizer is a lip plumper gloss for smooth and hydrated lips. It can be used alone or on top of a lipstick to make the lips look fuller and glossier.
